FMC TECHNOLOGIES, UNIPORT COLLABORATE ON MASTERS' DEGREE PROGRAMME

FMC Technologies Inc. has announced a partnership programme with the University of Port Harcourt, Uniport, to create the first Master of Science degree in Subsea Engineering in Nigeria as part of its commitment to developing the Nigerian technical workforce.

The programme curriculum will be developed in collaboration with industry experts to ensure students are prepared for work in the offshore oil and gas industry.

Mr. Michael Hunt, FMC Technologies Country Manager, Speaking on the partnership, said,

"This collaboration represents a major milestone in furthering the development of a highly skilled Nigerian workforce. These students will play a key role in the future of the oil and gas industry in Nigeria”.

"However, FMC Technologies is dedicated to developing its Nigerian workforce so that an ever-increasing number of technical, leadership and management roles in Nigeria can be performed by Nigerians."

University of Port Harcourt, Uniport will be accepting enrolment applications for this new programme starting from 2015.
